Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Proxi ("Proxi," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you connect your Google account to our service.

What we access

When you connect your Gmail account to Proxi, we request the gmail.modify scope. This allows Proxi to:

Proxi does not send emails to anyone else on your behalf, and does not read or modify emails outside the scope of organizing and labeling your inbox.

How we use your information

Email content (subject, sender, body text, and attachment content) is used solely to determine which label or category a given email belongs to, and — for new categories — to generate a short description of that category based on real examples. This processing is done using the third-party AI services described below.

Third-party sub-processors

To perform the classification described above, Proxi sends relevant email content to the following third-party AI providers, solely for the purpose of generating labeling decisions:

These providers process the content solely to return a labeling result to Proxi and do not use it to train their own models on our behalf, beyond their own standard API data-handling terms.

How we store your information

Your Google account's refresh token (which allows Proxi to access your Gmail account without you needing to re-authenticate every time) is encrypted at rest using Supabase Vault, a dedicated secrets-management system. The raw token is never stored in plaintext in our database.

Email metadata used for decision-making (such as sender, subject, and processed label decisions) is stored in our database to support the ongoing operation of the service — for example, to avoid re-processing the same email twice, and to build a profile of your labeling preferences over time.

Data retention and your controls

You may disconnect your Google account from Proxi at any time, which revokes Proxi's access to your Gmail account with Google and stops any further processing of your email data. To request disconnection or deletion of your account data, contact us using the email below.

Security

Access to our database and infrastructure is restricted to the operators of Proxi. All connections to our database are encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
